There are many adverse effects of circumcision that rob a man of his naturally intended penile function, perception, and pleasure when his foreskin is removed. In this series of articles we will try to outline some of the ill effects that are the sequelae of circumcising the human male.
The foreskin is a highly sensitive and nerve-rich part of the penis. It has many functions that medicine is aware of and, unquestionably, other functions that medicine has yet to discover. All of these functions are compromised or completely eradicated when the foreskin is removed.
In this article we will talk about the penile dead zone. In the circumcised male, this region is located on the shaft of the penis just behind the head of the penis on the shaft. In circumcised males, if one looks closely, and in many cases one doesn't have to look very closely to see the effects, one will see scarring of the skin on this area of the penis.
This scarring typically represents itself as a small and irregular band that encircles the shaft of the penis, again, just behind the head of the penis. In most males, it is made more clearly visible by a different color of skin than the surrounding structures.
This area is where the foreskin was originally anchored and attached to the penis. When the penis is surgically and barbarically removed from this area, it causes a scarring of the skin. This area is referred to as the "Penile Dead Zone" because the skin and underlying tissues have been damaged and destroyed, and scar tissue has formed in this area.
Scarring of the skin usually creates what sort of changes in the skin that has been scarred? Well, typically it means that the scarred skin will be tougher and stronger than the original skin that was in its place. When the body heals skin that has been damaged like this, the "new" skin is tougher and stronger because the body is naturally compensating the damaged area by making this "new" skin of a different type and structure than the previous type. This is because the body perceives that this sort of trauma may occur again, so it lays down more "armored" layers of skin to protect it (more strongly) from potential injury again.
This "new" region of scarred skin, thus, is less elastic because it is tougher than the original skin. What happens then is that, since this area of skin is less elastic, it will result in the penis growing to shorter lengths on erection, compared to if the foreskin had never been removed. So, the penis becomes smaller and a man is robbed of his natural penis length and girth.
This area is referred to as the "dead zone" because, not only is the skin in this region likened to "dead" skin, based on its loss of elasticity, but something else happens which is very important, too. And that is, this area of scarred skin is going to be LESS SENSITIVE to stimulation. That's because the nerves that originally populated this area are fewer in number and less sensitive. This is why it is the "dead zone" because this area of your penis has lost the majority of its sensitory abilities. This also means that if this region of the penis cannot "sense" as much stimulation, it also means that you will perceive less sexual pleasure.
A good way to test this out on yourself is via testing the sensation in this scarred area. Take a small feather and stroke the scarred area of your penis. Then stroke an unscarred area of your penile shaft and notice the difference between the two. Chances are, you won't even feel the feather under the scarred area.
Sadly, men who have been circumcised have decreased sensitivity and lessened perceived pleasure potential in this region of their penises.
